Two Undefeated Teams Remain in Summer Touch Rugby

Date: July 12, 2016

The Killer Bunnies have been the 2nd best adult touch rugby team for four years in a row.  After four losses in the last four Summer Touch Finals, they are on a mission to take home the Dai Dobbs Trophy this year.  They have scoring punch - 34 points in their first four matches.  However, their real strength is a relentless defense.  Jason Richard's Bunnies have allowed only 10 points so far, the best defensive record in the 12-team league.

Five other teams appear to be 'in the hunt' to make the four-team Dai Dobbs Trophy playoffs, including The Rohirrim, Barak Pauls' undefeated side.  Their toughest match so far has been against Aniko Hawthorn's Riskey Wicks team, a hard-fought game they won 6 - 5.

172 players registered for the 12-team league this year, including four new teams competing for the first time.  Kiss Our Aces, Red Cards, Scrum-tuous, and the Young Guns are showing signs of promise as they learn how to play this fast, fun, fitness-oriented game.  They are expected to give the more experienced teams some challenges later in the 6-week season.

Here is the Week Two Summary of Summer Touch Rugby league play.
