2018 Thompson-Okanagan PRC Coaches Announced

Over the past several years, the Thompson-Okanagan Rugby Alliance (TORA) rep rugby teams have been improving their performance at the Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs). In 2017, these improvements included the TORA U18 Girls winning gold and the TORA U14 Boys winning bronze. More than 1000 athletes on 48 regional teams from B.C. compete annually at this provincial tournament. Youth provincial teams are selected from the athletes who participate in the PRCs.

The coaches for 2018 have been identified and are listed below. We are very pleased that the following coaches will be coordinating TORA teams on June 30 - July 2 at Burnaby Lake this year.

U18 Boys - Christian Hill
U18 Girls - Andy Van Kuyk and John LaBoyne
U16 Boys - Derek Pue and George Curran
U16 Girls - Erin Jensen
U14 Boys - Leana Marton
U14 Girls - Chuck Bullock and Storm Fischer

PRC Manager Kevin Low will be supporting these teams again in 2018. His role is to work with middle and high school coaches in the Thompson-Okanagan to recruit elite players to these six teams. Kevin also provides manager services to the U14 Boys and Girls, U16 Boys, and U18 Boys teams while they are competing at the PRCs. Management services for the U16 and U18 Girls teams are provided by Sondra Van Kuyk.

PRC team tryouts will begin in multiple locations immediately after the high school XVs championships are finished. Interested players can contact Kevin Low (This email address is being protected from spambots.
