CORE Board Meeting Minutes
Monday, October 22, 2018
7:30 PM 

In Attendance: Clare Cassan, Marshall Corbett, George Curran, Barry Ebl, Doug Manning, Chris Ward, Derek Worrall

The meeting began at 7:34 PM.

CORE Financials 2018
- The Board reviewed the 2018 financials, which featured a planned loss of $4,455, from $88,469 in revenue and $92,924 in expenditures.  
- MOTION: "That the CORE Board approves the 2018 financials for distribution."
(Moved: Doug Manning, Seconded: George Curran) - Approved unanimously.
- Details of the financials will be distributed to the membership prior to the AGM on November 24.  It will be included in the President's Report.

CORE Budget 2019
- The Board reviewed and improved a proposed budget for 2019.  Final numbers will be distributed to the Board in the next few days.
- The Board approved a proposal to the AGM that individual memberships increase to $100 (from $75) in 2020 and that business memberships increase to $500 (from $400) and include an individual membership.  2019 fees will remain the same as they are now.
- Sponsorships for mini-rugby were set at $3,000 (key sponsors), $500 (Tier II), and $250 (Tier III).  All mini-rugby sponsors will be recognized on the player's t-shirts.
- It is proposed that CORE offer a touch rugby tournament for adults in mid-August.  The Board will begin a search for an organizer of the tournament.

CORE Proposal to the City
- Directors reviewed a 70+ page proposal to the City for an Okanagan Centre for Sport.  The proposal will be submitted to the City of Kelowna on October 29.  
- The Board suggested several small adjustments to the presentation.  Directors showed a strong support for all elements of the proposal.  
- It was recognized that the facility will be self-sustaining in the first two years of existence, and will begin to generate earnings in Year Three.  25% of all earnings will go to a Multi-Sport Family Reserve to assist U13 athletes needing financial support for sports programs.  
- MOTION: "That the CORE Board authorizes the submission to the City of Kelowna of the Okanagan Center for Sport Proposal at the Rutland Recreation Park."
(Moved: Chris Ward, Seconded: Derek Worrall)  Passed unanimously.

The meeting ended at 9:18 PM.
