New Summer Touch Season Starts Strong

IMG_780_20190619-010951_1

The 10th season of Okanagan Summer Touch launched last night, with 14 teams in 2 different leagues playing their first league games of the season.  260 athletes fill out the rosters of the 14 mixed teams of male and female athletes.

Last year's Dai Dobbs Trophy winner, the persistent Touch & Go team started their season with two wins, collecting a narrow 2 - 1 defensive win over Riskey Wicks, followed by a convincing 6 - 2 burning of The Heat of the Moment side.  The Hammers kept pace with Touch & Go, winning both of their matches over the Scarecrows and Ruck Buddies.

In the Recreational League, the lethal Painkillers launched their season with two wins, exorcising the Vicars 5 - 3 and then de-zenning Mellow Yellow 13 - 3.  The Red Cards showed their colors with two early season wins, uncovering the Sweaty Yetis 7 - 3 and then dousing the Ash Kickers 10 - 5.

Play continues next Monday, June 24 with 14 games.  Games start at 6:00 PM at Parkinson Rec Centre.  Spectators are always welcome.

Here's the details from the first week of summer touch play.
