The Priest Valley Vicars have donated $1,000 to help reduce the costs for youth playing with the Thompson Okanagan Rugby Alliance (TORA) rugby teams.  These funds will be added to the $5,800+ raised by Lisa Laing at a recent rugby social to support the TORA teams.  The funds will support the U14 Girls, U14 Boys, U16 Boys and U18 Boys TORA teams.  The U16 Girls and U18 Girls teams operate out of Kamloops.

The Vicars are an Okanagan-based Old Boys rugby club, whose clubhouse and pitch are located at Parkinson Rec Centre.   They play 8 - 10 games a year as part of the Pacific Northwest Old Boys Rugby Union.  The Vicars also play touch rugby on Wednesday nights at the Rec Centre at 6:00 PM.  After that, they head into the clubhouse for some cheer and, if you are lucky, something like Chili Cheese Dogs from Jim Alway and other Vicar volunteers.   Playing members need to be 38 (or close) but all ages are welcome for Wednesday night touch.
"The Vicars provide many other opportunities to get out of the house and have fun," said Jason Fritz, Club Vice-President.  "Recent activities include a pub crawl on a giant multi person bike, a Super Bowl party, World Cup previews, a trip to the Vancouver Sevens, our Christmas Gala, and our world famous Club Nights."
Are you 38 or over and interested in joining or rejoining the rugby community?  The Priest Valley Vicars are welcoming playing, training, and social members.
